Laycie knows how to spot a good book a minute after she sees one in a shelf. Born and raised in Upper Manhattan, she was raised by her Jewish dad and American-British mom who  eloped  from Jerusalem in the early 60’s and gave birth to her in the winter of 1964.   Early exposures to temple allowed her to gain a handful of friends with whom she learned how to bake cakes mixed with tofu (which her mother also taught, expertly) and how to convince her parents on having her Bar Mitzvah reception in a bar.  Of course, the actual recitation of the Torah was done in the temple.

Her parents exposed her to the colorful world of broadway in New York, operative word exposure pertained to taking her to the theater district of Manhattan almost every night since she learned the first lines of Les Miserables.  But on  a 360 degree turn of events, ( ok, make it just 180) she ended up majoring in Comparative Literature.  After graduation, she started as an assistant editor of a small publishing company and worked her way up to the corporate ladder and become one of the editors.  Currently, she edits autobiographies of broadway stars.  She has edited a thousand books from learning materials to pocketbooks to novels that were transcribed from movies or novels made into movies.  

Secretly dreams of being a cryptographer but doesn’t want to have anything to do with math except for three occasions; shopping, paying the bills, and tax.
